56K modem

I have a dell laptop (INSPIRON B130) connected as a wireless station
(811.g) thru my desktop(both use MSN as the ISP). Since I will be visiting a
location without broadband, I attempted to load AOL to use my 56K modem. It
will not load and gives me a location message - BROADBAND/CABLE/DSL). Is
there a software selection in XP I must check to use the 56K modem vs the 811
wireless.

Thanks

Normally you'd go though Dialup Networking but since you're on AOL and
their service and software is "non-standard" I suggest you contact AOL
tech support.

Hi
Think you may find that you need a Dial Up disk and a dail up account
to do this.
Being subscribed to a Bradband account does not usually give you Dial
Up access.
See AOL sight for details

Hope this helps

Most all the major ISPs provide around 15-20 hours of dial-up
access per month with a Broadband account.
