440 seat deployment of Vista

At my company we are in the process of making a decision on upgrading 440
seats to Vista.
The main requirment is being able to open multiple instances of media player.

In testing Windows Media Player, I was unable to locate were you select the
option to allow WMP to open mutiple video files at once. Currently when I am
playing a file and select another file, it opens it in the same player
instance.

As this option is a standard in all players I am sure it is just user
error...If anyone knows were the button is located please let me know...lol

WOW, that is strange, why would you remove something that people
use...Microsoft adds tons of copyright track and verification stuff that is
worthless and takes out one of the most viable options...it really makes you
wonder if Windows is the right product for a corporate environment. They seem
to gear everything towards teens and kids.

Thank you for your quick response, it looks like there is no reason to
upgrade anytime soon.

Looks like your alterntive is gonna be Quicktime.

Or better yet Quicktime Alternative, plays quicktime files within mediab
player classic without the overhead and bloat.

Or even better yet, get the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack that has Quicktime
Alternative, Real Alternative and Media Player Classic plus all the
codecs needed for almost everything.

I think the current is 1.03

I hope it is a long stretched out process that will allow plenty of
times for some of the problems to be ironed out other than by you <s>

I like and use VISTA but that's on a personal machine -- I'm retired
thank goodness -- but I'd hesitate to mass deploy it until much later
this year.

You need to check out all your hardware for one thing, external and
internal.

Sorry I can't help on the WMP question. There is a Music Pictures Video
section here .....
