{44} Critical & {25} Windows XP Windows Updates

Good morning,

1} I need help, I bought my Windows XP about a year

ago and finally installed it last month. One problem that

I have is there are so many updates. Windows Update site

says I have; {44} Critical updates & {25} Windows XP updates.

and I don't know in what order they should be installed.

{2} I tried to download/install W XP SP1 from the Windows

Update site it started saying I had {160} minutes to go. When

I went back to check on it the wait time was in the thousands.

I don't know if some files are left on my computer.

One fellow from the the microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and

support newsgroup told me where to go to download Dirextx 9.0b

to disk. My son has cable and download it for me. Can SP1 be

download to a disk & then installed?
