4:5 to 16:9

I have to create duplicate presentations in both 4:5 and 16:9 aspect ratios.
Is there any way I can convert one to the other without distortion? What I
really would like to do is create in 4:5 and then copy it to the 16:9 format
without stretching text or artwork on the actual slide. Then I could adjust
them manually to fill the space. I don't have to use the actual layout for
the widescreen, my 4:5 is 8"x10", the widescreen could be 8"x14.22". I'm
using 2007, but I can use earlier versions for the conversion if it's easier
in them.

Unfortunately, there's not a good way to go from on-screen show to
wide-screen format.

I'd do this:

Put both presentations in normal editing view.
Arrange all windows so they're side by side.
Pull up slide one in both files.
On the on-screen show side, Ctrl+A to select all, Ctrl+C to copy.
On the wide-screen side, Ctrl+V to paste.

Repeat for all slides.

Adjust to taste.

It will be tedious if you have more than a few slides.
