32bit vs. 64bit

Microsoft MVP,

Is it possible to tell what version of Windows XP is
installed either 32bit or 64bit? What is the big
difference between 32bit and 64bit?

Thanks,

Mark

You have the 32-bit version of Windows XP. The 64-bit version is
only commercially available for very expensive, high-end Itanium processors.

Greetings --

If you have to ask, you're almost definitely running the 32-bit
version of WinXP. (I'm sure you'd have noticed paying several
thousand dollars more for the Itanium or Itanium II CPU required to
run the 64-bit version of WinXP Pro.) Additionally, there is no
64-bit version of WinXP Home.

Home only comes in 32 bit, but follow the link provided below for more
information on the 64 bit version of XP.
