anyone know how to find out if my my version of xp is
32 bit or 64 bit?

If you have to ask, you have the 32 bit version. You would know if you had

Some people aren't as au fait as you might be with XP - you have to take that into consideration before you post message such as you have.

Try any of the following - possibly the 'systeminfo' option first:

From a command prompt type "systeminfo" - without the quotes. If you see X86, you have the 32-bit version. Also courtesy of MVP Kelly Theriot.

and for the adventurous person:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Environment. In the right pane: Processor_Architecture should
read: x86 for 32 bit.

Well., in that case I will hold out for a 65bit machine then, to be one

Take your computer outside. Place in on the ground and hit it with a
sledgehammer twenty times. Count the number of "bits" it breaks into;
that will tell you what "bit" version of XP you have.
