I purchased the retail version of Win XP Pro before MSFT ended sales.

Is that a 32-bit version, or does it include both 32-bit and 64-bit
versions?
Would 32-bit XP install on 64-bit hardware?

Retail? It's 32-bit, only.

64-bit XP was available only as OEM ("system builder pack"), not as a retail
version.

Yes, no problem at all.

Yes, a lot of the bookmarks for XP info I bookmarked at MSFT site have gone
bye bye.

Well, what did *you* purchase? We can't very well read the packaging
or invoice from here. (Of course WinXPx64 was available only as an OEM
license, if that helps.)

... or does it include both 32-bit and 64-bit

No, of course not. It's one or the other.

If you have a modern 64-bit system, yes. If you have one of the
original (Itanium varients) 64-bit system, no.
