Do you have packet-writing software (for example, Direct CD or InCD)
installed? Is the RW drive formatted for use as a rewritable disk, and is
the packet software running? You need both. XP does not come with
packet-writing software.

What CD Burner do you have installed?
XP built in CD s/w cannot burn direct to CD/RW, you need
3rd party s/w!
