i ran ghost disk check on c drive and image check on the
cd image

i have had xp installed on this computer already and just
wanted a clean install so can someone pls help me with
this...

Hi there

If you really do want a totally clean installation, then the best way to do
this is to boot from the XP CD and delete all the partitions there. Then,
recreate them from XP's setup before continuing to install.

That is, don't muck around with fdisk. Also, make sure you use the NTFS
filesystem.

Your errors do sound strange. Either there are files left behind from a
previous installation, or there could be a hardware fault. Last time I saw
random error during installation, the CPU fan wasn't working effectively and
the CPU was overheating. That's not to say that's the problem you're
having, but it could be hardware related.

well i know the cpu is good and the fan is working great
and everything... and i dont think the errors are random
because there the same things every time... and i did have
a partition on it using partition magic but i dont think
that has anything to do with it...

about NTFS, when i got the computer it was FAT32, but with
partition magic i made it NTFS but now its FAT32 again,
and i dont really have the xp cd i have a RECOVER XP cd
that came with the computer, and the computer was bought
over the tv with HSN.

i tried to delete all the partitions with FDISK but it
said that there was none., and when i put in the recover
cd it just runs ghost and loads the recovery image onto
the harddrive, i even tried loading up ghost.exe and
putting the image on the hard drive manually, and same
errors, after the image is put on the harddrive the comp
reboots and then goes into xp setup where i start to get
those errors,

and i dont think the cd gives me a change to delete any
partitions at all...

hope this is all making sense... thanks for fast response

ok i just restarted computer and let it go through the
scan disk crap and it found alot of bad sectors but
windows loaded up..., so in a few minutes im gona go run
scan disk, thanks
