2nd Request - WIN 2000 Patch (KB835732)

2nd Request - any help is greatly appreciated - Thks,

Nine different times I have ran the "Windows Update" and
each time my system installs the KB835732 patch, it
completely locks-up after rebooting (just before the
login/password comes up). I have let it sit for as long
as overnight but nothing happens. I have a HP Omnibook
XE3 (GF) Laptop; 1.1 ghz with 500 mb ram and a 60 gb HDD.

If I uninstall the patch, my system works again but then
tries to download the patch and I start all over again.
How can I get the patch without the problem of locking up
my system?

Hi Kelly.

I don't really know the fix. But I suggest you also post in the
Microsoft.public.windows update or the update newsgroup for Windows 2000. Below is to
a link of discussions about this particular patch and problems and possible solutions
users have used. The second link also discusses a possible hotfix from MS.--- Steve

KB835732 downloads but never installs correctly. I always
get the message that the installation fails. How did you
get it to install correctly on your computer?
