2nd hard drive

i install a second hard drive that i had in a my other computer. when i
start up i get a screen telling me to hit F1 to continue or F2 to run setup.
i try both and i cant do anything. i cant get into the bios to do anything, i
have phx. bios. its aloso telling that the 2nd hard disk not found. the only
what i can get started it keep hitting all of the F keys until i hear a beep
and then hit F6. then the computer will start up. i have gone in and check
the device manage and everything seems to be ok. it has the 2nd hd there and
it says its working ok.can anybody helllllp me. thanks

Did you remember to change the jumper on the hard drive to make it slave?
The original hard drive might also need to have a jumper changed to make it
master with slave.

you have a configuration problem,,,you mentioned having the new drive on
the same cable with your main HD. Is the main HD set as master? if so (
and it should be so) set the 2nd drive as a slave. That should take care
of our problem, Oh yeah,, I gathered you are using the XP OS, make a
setof startup disks... you may have a small problem at first and need to
run the recovery console in whch case usint the "fixboot" command will
prolly set ya straight/
