2K keyboard and mouse issues

Every other time I boot-up (using a clean installation of
2K Pro with all the patches and updates installed) the
keyboard and mouse don't work. I have to push the restart
button. It did this while updating and rebooting the
patches, it did this with only a video card
installed...with a video and network card, and with a
video, network and soundblaster live card installed.

I am using a wired MS Natural keyboard, and an old wired
logitech M-C48 mouse, with latest mouse drivers installed.
A GeForce FX 5200 AGP video card. A Netgear LAN card.

I'm using W2K because it is an old PIII 933 machine with
256mb ram, whose mobo won't take XP.

If the motherboard has a Via chipset, update your "4-in-1"
drivers.
