We are upgrading from Word 2000 to 2003. In 2000 you could direct format
text with a style applied, say "Title", then click in the Style drop down to
reapply the style and it would prompt you to update the style, or reply that
style to the text.
2003 doesn't give me that option.
I've been able to turn off the keep track styles so I no longer get a Title
style, a Title+24pt+Bookman Font+Underline, Title+Italcs as I tweak the way
the title looks, but when I've found what "looks" good I used to be able to
use the direct formatting to update the existing style. Now I have to go
back into Styles, find Title and reenter all that in the dialog box to
reflect it.
Am I missing something, is there a fix or an option I haven't found?
