I keep getting this error message when Outlook 2003 is
sending/receiving for my POP3 account. Supposedly a
service pack will correct this problem but my software is
updated??? Help

Did you recently install Windows XP SP2? I've seen one report that stated
this error started occurring after installation of SP2.

I have the same problem, same error. I have Office (Outlook) 2003 sp 1 and
Windows XP sp 2. The article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;827349 only provides
a solution when the problem occurs with Outlook 2002 or Outlook XP. Your
reply describes my situation; can you or anyone suggest a solution? By the
way, I've been running Windows XP sp 2 for a month or so now, and this
problem did not show up until this weekend, after Microsoft update performed
an update automatically. Can I do something manually by disabling either
Secure Sockets Layer security (SSL) and Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
per the description of the problem in the article cited above?
