Hi all, I got this problem with my optical drive I can't seem to burn
a working copy of any type of data/video/etc.. CDR or DVD. At first I
was getting Autorun error msg ("Autorun.exe - Entry point not found")
and maybe a bad firmware flash(I unintentionally reflash my plextor a
few times) so I decided to get a new drive to replace my plextor CDRW,
I purchased a lite-on dual DVD-RW.

This is really gettin out of hand I even tried from a bootcd (I have
another dvd drive with it master config on both I have my HD on a pci
card) to create a CD but nuthin works. Is this a IDE connector
problem? because my dvd works I'm thinking of swapping it then just
leaving dvd unconnected until I can get a new MB. All suggestion is
welcome. Thank you.

System Spec:
XP
BootCD(PEBuilder)
512mb
2 HD
2 opticals

Edit: Inspected the connectors dont see anything burnt lookin. It was
working before...And from a just reformated system (XP Sp1a +
AutopatcherXP + Customized themes)

I also have had a hard time after installing a cd-writer.
XP sometimes tell me on shut down there is a conflict with
a driver. And I can not use cd-creator at all. If
something got messed up it had to be from the software a
cd writer did not require me to load a driver.

Well if u use CD Creator 4, its not
compatible with XP. You need 5 with
the updates, or version 6 for it to work
properly.
