2000 will not boot from mirrored HDD

Hi
Have a 2000 server with 2 18gb disk that is software mirrored. When we
booted the server a few days ago it could not boot from disk1 (bluescreen),
so we booted from the mirror disk, and all was ok. Yesterday I replaced the
faulty disk1 (removed mirror, shutdown, added new disk, started the
server).... but It would not boot from the mirror disk, not even if it was
the only disk connected. But if I create a boot diskette/cd it would start
the OS nicely. Seems like the disk does not have a active boot volume??? If
so, how do I make a dynamic disk to be bootdisk?

Or what could be wrong? Any ideas?

Check, or try to remember, if there is a utility partition created on disk1.
It is usually a small partition that cannot be mirrored. If so, perhaps you
should recreate it.

yes, there is a HP utility partition on disk1 but not on the mirror. Could
this be the problem?
