2000 Server and Event Viewer.

Event viewer comes up with a list for the System entries.
If I click on another tab then the screen goes blank. Then
I pop back to the first tab and the screen is blank. Here
is the thing, when I open Event Viewer sometimes, there
are entries there, I know that there are entries there.
Sometimes I go back and they are gone, yer to return when
I check later...

What gets me is that Murphy's law is striking... When I
really need to see the logs, it seems 9 out of 10 times, I
can't.

This is getting very frustrating...

Thanks for help. I checked the knowledge base.

I read the article about corruption. Is that possible?
Would that explain how every log on event viewer would be
blank?

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Then; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event
Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.

The more permanent fix;
