I recently bought a puter that has a substandard and very
poor quality Windows 2000 Pro already installed in it. It
contains only enough to get online and thats all. I really
cannot stand it anymore and so I have tried everything to
install XP, I get a mssg that says unable to upgrade from
the current version installed. How do I get my XP
installed? Please help...

Hello
This is the requirements for the Upgrade version.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/upgrading/matrix.asp

You can do a full install by booting from the cd, then delete the existing
partition then partitioning and formatting and installing, the only thing is
with the upgrade version you will be asked to put in a qualifying
version(98,98SE,ME) for XP Home.

After installing be sure to turn on the firewall (ICF) ASAP and visit MS
Windows Update site and download all the updates, this is for your security
and safety.
