2000 Domain and Workgroup problems

A

Alex Brooks

I brought my laptop home from work and thought to get it too connect to my
home network I would have to change the workgroup from a domain to my home
workgroup called BEDROOM, for the settings to set I needed to restart but
when it booted up it had a login screen and there is no way I can login
because I don't login to my network. Is there anyway I can get in and change
is back to a domain.

Thanks in advance.

try restarting the computer in safe mode, then your
computer shouldn't require a password, and you should be
able to change the options

You effectively "unjoined" the domain. That is going to be a problem if you
don't know the administrator password to the laptop. In order to connect
back to your network at work, you will need to login to the laptop locally
(as administrator) then re-join the domain using domain admin privileges.
Most likely, your network administrator will need to do this for you.

As for you home workgroup, again, if you don't have a local administrator
account on the laptop, you will not be able to do much with it at home.
