2 things that frustrate me in Vista

One is my sound. I have the volume turned all the way up and it is what
I consider low (at 100) when I run Vista but the same volume in Windows XP
is super loud....Why?

Also, in Media Center, I can only turn the volume up to 50. Again, Why?

And the other thing is the why is Media Center volume tied to media players
volume. I often have Media Center on to watch (but not listen to) a baseball
game amd I periodically open Media Player to view my output of home movies.
If I lower the volume in Media Center, it lowers the volume in Media Player.
Again, Why?

What kind of sound card?
Does it support both Analog and Digital output?
If so, go to the Control Panel and double click Sound.
In the dialog that opens, make sure the speakers are set to the proper
output.

As for the other issue I don't have an answer.

I have already done all of that. The card is a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
with the latest drivers.

You might try the vista.hardware_devices ng. Good luck.

Not a DAMN thing of his own, apparently (cont. below)

Steve, are you into the coming-INSANITY of pre-adding your commentary to
what's already been quoted? If so, then PLEASE *stop*. Notice _I_ have
not added quote-markings to _my_ text. Why (?) have you added?

People: Putting one's own self into the already-quoted area makes the
conversational flow IMPOSSIBLE to read!!
