2 sets of windows

I

Ivy

I had a problem that would not let me boot into windows,
after trying for several days to solve it, frustration
set in and I reinstalled WindowsXP but to a different
directory so I could continue to work on my problem.
After the install I figured out my problem and was able
to boot into my original Windows installation and
everything is fine there now. My question is this..How do
I get rid of the second installation? can I just delete
the second windows directory that was made? Is there some
way to get past the beginning point where I have to
select which installation to boot with or someway to make
it default to the one I want?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi,

Yes, just delete the secondary Windows directory. Then start/run msconfig,
go to the boot.ini tab and select the installation you are keeping, then
click 'set as default'. Click apply/ok and reboot to make sure it works. If
so, go back to that tab and click on 'check all boot paths', you should be
prompted to remove the now-invalid one.
