2 questions (text) and (png) problems

working in powerpoint xp - when text has been assigned an
animation it looks jagged, if no animation is assigned it
looks fine.
also working with powerpoint xp - some png files have
black boxes around them when they should be transparent.
I have down loaded service packs 1&2 which did nothing to
fix the problem.
help please!

Are you using Photoshop to create the PNGs?
If so it's probably colour management. Disable it or use Web graphics
defaults.
Also check under Image>Mode>Assign profile and choose 'don't colour manage'
then resave the PNG.
