Ok, I am trying to setup

HD #1 - 10 Gig XP installe
HD#2 - 40 Gig NTFS formatted
CD#1 - CD Burner
CD#2 - DVD Ro

If I setup: IDE1 - HD#1 Master, HD#2 Slave and IDE2 CD#1 M and CD#2 S --- Will boot into Windows, but both CD's will not work, error on boot Secondary Master and Slave are not ATPI compatable. (Press F1 to continue

If I setup IDE1 - HD#1 Master and CD#1 Slave and IDE2 HD#2 Master and CD#2 Slave - Will not boot into Windows - this happens if I setup HD#2 on IDE2 no matter what

I used to have IDE1 - HD#1 Master and IDE2 CD#1 master and CD#2 Slave, and would get ATPI error on boot but both CD's would work in Windows

Note : HD#2 has some cluster issues, works fine for storing files, but I do not want to use it as my XP boot drive

Please help and suggestions that you could provide would be great.

Check jumpers at the rear of each drive..... ensure that one is NOT set as
CS (Cable Select) by accident)

Check to see:

If both IDE ports are enabled in BIOS

If the drives on IDE2 are correctly set Master/Slave

Chkec the cables and replace with known good cables
