1st page 2000

Hi everyone - I decided to download 1st Page 2000 and went to:

http://www.evrsoft.com/

and downloaded and installed it. During installation, EZ Trust Antivirus
popped up and said there was a trojan virus in it. I ran a complete scan
with EZ trust and it found the virus and deleted it (I hope its gone). I
usually scan all downloads but didn't this time and felt safe because I
installed this program on my sisters pc a couple of months ago with no
problem. So just thought I would warn anyone that was thinking of
downloading and installing the program. I sent an e-mail through their
contact us page to let them know.

I downloaded and scaned it just for the heck of it. No virus found.
Perhaps you were infected before the install.

Ist Page 2000 come with 450 odd Pre JavaScript that can be used as is or
used to learn from to see how things are done.

One of these JavaScripts call button maina or something has a looping
action that many av's detect and call a trojon.

There is no virus, worm trojon and is safe to use as is.

Might be worth adding a comment to the PW entry for it, and referring
people to this page
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/av/six_buttons_from_hell.php

YES, it will do unpleasant things to your browser
(but with no lasting harm).

NO, It won't do anything unless you add it to a page YOURSELF, and
then ignore the the warning and press one of those "buttons from
hell".

If it worries you, delete the appropriate file, particularly if it
will be used by people who think "fake formatting" screensavers are
hilarious.

It does have legitimate use in testing your browser defences, but be
aware that local pages may not be passing through the full array of
filtering, especially if opened as a file, and not from a local
webserver.
