1900XTX and crossfire question

I keep reading in magazine articles eg in PC PRO "Considering the £25 price
premium for the XTX's minuscule improvement, it doesn't make sense to choose
it over the XT, especially as you can only take advantage of CrossFire with
the XT version." that two 1900XTX cannot be installed as a crossfire pair.

Is this true?

Thanks

yes, you will need a crossfire master card, AND one X1900XT or XTX. I bought
an X1900XT Crossfire edition, and an X1900XT as I didn't think the extra
outlay was worth it for the XTX variant, and am happy to have two cards with
the same clock speeds.

The X1900XTX can be paired with the X1900XT Crossfire Edition. As far I know
the two cards will run with asynchronous clock speeds.

Keep in mind it's 25 GBP on top of 300. Users shopping in this price range
are not primarily value-oriented.

yeah, but £25 got me 20 b&h, and 40 bottles of stella!!! yes i know that £25
aint much when you go out and get the mobo, and 2 gpu at the same time, but
i was thinking, for my own preference, it'll play everything flat out
anyway, and i couldn't give a shit about benchmarking scores!
