I am a big fan of targeted advertising, because I appreciate when
people can send me specific ads. I admit, I have credit issues, so I
like it when I get advertisments to consolidate my debt. How do these
companies know this? They are really smart, it seems. Also, I think I
can use some assistance in the intimacy department, so it is great that
I get ads for Viagra and Cialis. True, I can go to these web sites, but
with the ads it is simply a single click. This program, 180Solutions,
targeted specific advertisements to my IE browser, but I can no longer
find it. Did this company go public and change its name? Any help would
be much appreciated.

You're posting with a real e-mail address - so that's a start. The
spambots will soon find you. And since most people come to these groups
hoping to get rid of this junk, my best advice is to just ignore any of
the advice you see re: spyware scanners like Ad-Aware and Spybot. Both
of these may be cleanly un-installed with Add/Removce Programs in
Control Panel.

Seriously though, if this is a legitimate request - just go to their
home page http://www.180solutions.com/ and fill out whatever personal
information they require.

I am not sure I understand what is so negative about this software that
is installed on your computer. Most computers nowadays have lots of
memory and hard drive space, so additional small pieces of software is
not too problematic, is it? Maybe I am wrong, do these software
products take up on the order of 30 or 40 gigabytes? If these small
software products help marketers know what exactly you want advertised,
in my opinion this is all quite helpful. Again, I like a personalized,
customized web-browsing experience.

Such software tends to slow down and destabilize PCs, with consequences
ranging from unpleasant to disasterous.
