through hardware set-up etc. everyhting fine.
Open scann/camera wizard and told software for device is
not installed.
Install Scanner software disc ( worked ok previously )
and get ;

" 16 bit windows subsystem
c:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.NT.The system file is not
suitable for running
MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows applications. "

Can anyone Help ?

SP2 upgrade deletes "autoexec.nt" from the
C:\windows\subsystem32
file for whatever reason.

Hi there Michelle, try logging on to the site below, and
downloading XP_Fix.EXE It took me literaly hours to

You've posted this about half a dozen times. It's *not* correct.

Error message when you install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit
Windows-based program

Also can be caused by a Trojan installing a file windupdater.exe and
creating registry entries for that file.

This little tool restores the autoexec.nt file for you: XP_Fix.EXE at
http://www.visualtour.com/downloads/default.asp

I just checked it again and it still works!!

Colin found it and posted it 2 days ago. It fixed my
problem and reinstalled the autoexec.nt file to my
C:\windows\system32 file automatically after downloading.
Do you have a problem finding the site?

It's still nonsense. I have SP2 installed here, and my original
\windows\system32\autoexec.nt, dated 8/18/2001 is still present.

It's your lie about SP2 deleting files. So far noone here has been prepared to find the steps to fix. Windows can replace it's own files so third party (and probably illegal) downloads are not needed.

If you are still infected with whatever it will be gone again next time it boots.

As with another post you made saying exactly the same, SP2 does no such
thing. (quite apart from the folder not being subsystem32 anyway). But
there is a trojan around that appeared at much the same time which does.
Check for it with the scanner and cleaner at www.pestpatrol.com

As an aside...

Its been my experience that sp2 DOES delete some files that it doesn't
think belong there...files that I added when I installed XP.

Have a nice one...

May be, though I have not noticed. But it definitely does *not* delete
this one
