When I try to install a new program, I am getting the same error message
"C:\windows\system32\Autoexec.nt". Can someone clear this up & explain what
this, & how to resolve this. I am using a "Win. XP Home Edition" version on
the affected computer.

You've picked up a nasty malware - probably WINDUPDATE (note the "D" after WIN) - which removes the file "autoexec.nt" from Windows\System every time you boot the computer.

The latest version of AdAware with the latest update will remove it and clear your computer. After that's done, you need to pick up a copy of the missing "autoexec.nt" from C:\Windows\Repair and place it in C:\Windows\System and you will be back in business.
