128 bit browser encryption

I have a Windows 2000 machine with IE6 installed. When I go to
Help\About, the browser info says I have 128-bit encryption. However,
when I visit certain secure sites, I get an error message saying I
need to upgrade to 128-bit. I went to this site
https://www.fortify.net/sslcheck.html and it says I only have 56, not
128. I know IE 6 automatically comes with 128. Anyone know what's the
deal here? I did several Windows Updates and installed all the
available updates. Still no luck.
