128 bit encryption

I required 128 bit encryption to be able to complete the Employment Insurance
application(Canada).I was given two choices,1.Microsoft downloads page that I
do not have a clue which specific download to download or 2.Download
Netscape.I did and used it to finish the application.Now I need to get
Windows(latest version) that I use 128 bit encryption then I can delete
Netscape entirely.My questions are 1.How do I find out what encryption level
I have now. 2.If it is not 128 bit encryption as I was informed originally,
which is the specific download from Microsoft downloads page.

If you are using WinXP then you are at the minimum of IE6 SP1 and 128bit encryption level.
If you installed WinXP SP2 then you are at IE SP2 level.

Start Internet Explorer.

Go to; Help --> About

You should see; Cipher Strength 128-bit

The version of Internet Explorer that comes with Windows XP has always
supported 128-bit encryption.

To see for yourself: Help > About Internet Explorer.
