100% cpu and freezing

Had problems with XP freezing noticed the cpu is running at 100% is this
normal or something I can do to cut down the usage. running athlon 1 Gig
256 mem epox motherboard 133 running

and see what process is using your cpu and post back to
this thread.

100% is not unusual if you are running something like
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. For most routine stuff
it probably shouldn't be anywhere near that number.
Follow up on MAP's suggestion.

There is a good chance you have a "worm" eating up cycles. I found this to
be true.

Use Task Manager to find out what processes are running. I don't remember
the details but I had one named ???.DLL (??? means I don't remember) where
all the characters are capitalized. There is a good dll with the same name
except it is in small characters.

Google is a good place to look up suspicious terms.
