Just how much of a difference will the exrtra 512 k make? I use my machine
for standard work with moderate 3d gaming and tv/video capture. I want to
upgrade anyway to get my fsb to above 200mhz. I plan to buy higher end
Corsair ram.

Asus A7N8X version 2.0 bios 1007
AMD 2500+ AQXEA (running at 12.5 X 166 ) 2800+ 43C with Volcano 7
Kingston 2700 (2 X 256) 2-3-3-5 Dual channel
ATI AIW 8500 128meg AGP

I upgraded from 768 to 1 GB and I saw no difference in performance.
But knowing I have so much memory available for programs, etc. makes it
a worthwhile upgrade IMHO.

1024MB(1GB) vs 512MB!
Yep! Get the 2x 256 cas2 3200/400, should smoke!
cpu might get kinda hot, running at 2500Mghz on a 12.5x setting,
guess you can back off a bit!
Course if you smoke it, the savings in not buying an extra 512 megs will
almost pay for the barton 2800!

I was used to 1.5Gb of PC133 RAM on my previous PIII machine, and found
512Mb of PC3200 not quite right. Increasing to 1Gb of PC3200 felt a lot
better.
