1 email address -2 computers-not receiving all messages on both?

I have a laptop with Windows Mail and a desktop with Outlook Express. I am
using the same email address on both. I noticed that I am receiving mail
from everyone on the desktop and not on the laptop. Sometimes I am receiving
a replied message on the laptop but not the original message. Why? Some email
addresses are showing on the laptop one day and then not the next day.
 
In order that both computers can download emails from the server
you must configure the account to leave a copy of all emails on the
server: Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced,
enable "Leave a copy of messages on the server." You should also
choose one of the two delete options. Do this on both computers.
