1.44 Flopy drive in BIOS but not seen in XP

I have installed a new 1.44 flopy drive on a brand new P4
2.4 system. It appears in the BIOS and is fully
installed. When I go to my computer in XP it is not there.

I have tried fliping the cable...still nothing.

Help please!

If the cable were reversed the drive indicator light usually stays on. Do
you have another drive you could swap to see if you might have a bad drive?
What happens when you put a floppy disk in it? Does the drive spin at all
or does the indicator light come on?
