0x8024402C/Proxycfg

I volunteered to get all the computers at my children's school (small rural
school) up to date with all fixs, patches, and updates. I continually get
the 0x8024402C error and though I have little hair left am about to pull it
all
out!

I have read each thread, tried all suggested fixes, with the exception of
the proxycfg -d piece. A number of the machines give me a message that
proxycfg.exe is an invalid name, that it doesn't exist on the machines. These
are all Dell Dimension 2400 desktops and running Windows XP with SP1. Here
is the exact message I get:

'proxycfg' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file.

I need a solution - and an idea of why the proxycfg tool isn't on these
machines!

Hi,

It could be that you have a path issue, I suggest you download and
run Fixpath.exe in that case:

Fixpath.exe is in fixpath2.zip available here:
