ZoomBrowser EX (4.0)

Hello all,

Normally ZoomBrowser would start on connecting my Canon PowerShot
S230 to my computer. A couple weeks ago I noticed that this program
did not open on connection.
I searched this newsgroup and got several insightful ideas about
correcting this change, but after multiple attempts to uninstall and
reinstall the entire program I have run into new problems whereby I am
now getting an error message (on trying to reinstall )informing me as
follows:"1607:unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime error"

I get this message on reinserting the Solution Disk that shipped with
the camera.

So far I have removed most of the components using the add/remove
programs facility in the Control Panel.( I resorted to this because
the programs (file viewer utility, photorecord etc.)were no longer
being uninstalled using the Start/All programs/Canon
route.)Photostitch refuses to be uninstalled.Getting error message:
"Feature Transfer Error:- 1618 Another installation is already in
progress.Complete that installation before proceeding with this
install" A visit to the registry shows that all the ZoomBrowser
components are still there!!??? Should I delete these items here as
well? What about just deleting everything in the Canon folder in the
registry?.(I would uninstall my Canon printer first).
I would like to do a start-from-scratch install.

Have you tried contacting Canon toll-free support? That may be a known issue
to them.
