XP strange music playing !!

Ok, my computer has a soft, sort of
grocery store music playing almost everytime I turn it on. I don't know how
to get rid of it. I have a MDG computer with almost all the bells and
whistles. I never had a problem with it before. I was told that perhaps a
site which I may have gone to implanted a bug in my computer that won't be
easily destroyed. I have ran several scans and nothing turned up. please
help me

What programs did you use to do the "several scans"?

Hi Sheree,

Take a look at your 'Task Manager' (right click on the Taskbar) the click
the 'Processes' tab and check to see what is running, you should be able to
match them up with your 'startup' programs....

hope that helps

Do you hear it through headphones, too? My friend had some problems with a
local radio station's signal playing through his PC speakers. Upgrading to a
better pair solved it.

I used Spy sweeper, Rogers yahoo online protection and mcafee 2006.

Exactly *when* does the music play? If it starts immediately when you
first turn the computer on - before Windows is even loaded - this is
coming from your motherboard. If the tune is classical music like "Fur
Elise", the sound may even continue when Windows is loaded. This is a
signal from your motherboard that a fan or other motherboard component
has failed.
