hello
first of all im sorry for my english.
its is a bit long but i wrote every thing i know about this problem

i have two hard drives c:/ and d:/ (my windows is at c:/ )
i have at d:/ a folder name: D:\068d8a2f08f142e5e4de63d0da1ea8
which have an hexadecimal attributes . this folder belongs to windows and it
not hidden folder.

yesterday i've tried to copy my personal work folder to a new place at my
hard drive by dragging it to another place, and when my mouse pointed above
this folder: D:\068d8a2f08f142e5e4de63d0da1ea8
a mistake happened and my finger slipped and copied my personal folder into
this windows folder.(the original is gone)
i've tried to copy it back and i got the next error:
"Cannot create or replace "*name*" :access is denied

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file is not currently in use."

i even cant see my stuff(document and etc.) in there, i could only see my
folder's name.
i tried to check the folder properties by clicking on the right button at:
D:\068d8a2f08f142e5e4de63d0da1ea8\name
and i looked for a security Tab which weren't there.

i am the computer administrator.
i dont know what should i do, iv'e tried almost everything i know,
and i even dont know what kind of folder is it.
when i talked to microsoft they told me to write to you guys.

i noticed that this folder exist at almost every computer which have two
hard drives or more.
you can try it yourself with folder that you dont need (folder that is not
empty)
and see for yourself.(i've tried it a couple of times)

thank you very very much....

I have a couple of such folders on my data disk. They seem to be scratch
folders which were created and used during an update. They don't bother
anything so I have left them alone.

You will not see the security tab if you are using simple file sharing.

If you're running XP Professional or Media Center, do the
following.
Go to Control Panel and double click Folder Options.
In Folder Options, click on the View tab.
In the Advanced Settings box, scroll down to the bottom of the
list.
Remove the check mark from the box next to "Use simple file
sharing (Recommended)".

If you're running XP Home Edition, you'll have to restart your
computer and boot into Safe Mode in order to access the
Security tab on the folder's Properties sheet.

Now, when you right click that folder you should see a Security
tab.
If you're unable to give yourself Full Control Permissions, you
may have to take ownership of the folder. Take a look at these
articles for more info.

I don't know about this folder much but I have seen this folder on my PC
sometimes.

The Security tab you are looking for to set the premission is not available
by default in Windows XP Professional. You need to configure one setting to
make it available.

1. Open My Computer
2. Click Tools - Folder Option
3. Click View tab.
4. In the end of the option list, unchech "Use Simple File Sharing
(Recommended) option.

This will enable the "Security" tab in Properties box.

Hope this help, let us know!
