XP showing wrong number of CPUs in task manager

All of a sudden one of our dual CPU systems (Dell Precision) started showing
4 processors in the task manager under the performance tab. It doesn't seem
to be affecting anything but is there a fix or this or does anyone know the
cause?

If the system is new then it may be an Intel Hyper Threaded CPU which looks
like 2 - so a dual proc system displays 4 CPUs in the Task Manager.
Contact your hardware vendor to confirm this.
