| does anyone have any accurate information as to when xp SP2 will be
| released?
|
| i find it astounding that a company such as microsoft has spent so long
| since SP1, and yet released SOOOOOO many hotfixes (which clog up the
| installed programs details) without just releasing SP2 to clean it all up
| earlier than the mid-2004 expected release date (which is the latest
| information I have seen about it)
|
| win2000 has had 4 SP's so far, so surely the number of SP's released is
| really immaterial. Once enough hotfixes and breaches have been identified
| and released, then surely releaseing a complete SP would be more beneficial
| to customers and Microsoft alike.
|
| Why should i have to pay repeatedly for failed d/l's (thru dial up) for
| hotfixes for an OS i have paid good money for, when they could simply
| release SP2 for distribution on CD's thru common outlets, such as
| newsagents, etc
