Where is XP Service Pack 2 for download to single PC users?

I have Windows XP Professional edition installed as the
operating system on just one PC (Dell Dimension 8100 -
1600 Mhz). WHEN can I expect to be able to download XP
Service Pack 2? I have set my PC for Automatic Update
downloads. Is there NO Microsoft site where this is now
available, since today 22nd of August 2004, it is two
weeks almost since you released SP2 for general
distribution? I live in the United Kingdom. My e-mail

Ken.... Read through the many hundreds of postings on this very question and
you'll find the link you need to download sp2... C'mon guys, you are just
clogging up the message boards posting the same question over and over and
over again...

Sorry Ken, nothing personal my friend but this SP2 download question is
repeated about 40 times on this one board...

Hi,

XP SP2 for Pro is expected shortly this month end. You will have to wait for
sometime since it has been released for Home edition.

I believe its for pro and home version, I cannot see Microsoft making a
service pack for each operating system differently. Correct please if I'm
wrong.

Peter,

Service Pack 2 for Windows XP is for all release of Windows XP ,
Professional, Home, TabletPC and Media Center.
There is only one SP2.
The confusion is arising over the release timing for those users using
Automatic Updates and Windows Update. They will all get the same SP2 just
staggered out over a period of time.
If any of the users of any of those platforms wishes to download the single
270MB version of the SP2, that they can use to install on any PCs running
Windows XP then they can just download the one linked from the page

entitled
Download and Deploy Service Pack 2 to Multiple Computers

This is the full SP2 package for all machines , but it is 270MB in size so
may take some time on slow connections.

Read the posts about SP2 BEFORE you decide to download and install.
Dell seems to be a particular problem. You could just run a third party
firewall and forget about SP2 until M$ gets it right.

I just spoke with microsoft about the new service pack. Starting on
Monday August 25th users os windows xp home edition will have a better
chance of ownloading a smaller version of the service pack. 25 million
users a day. Starting August 25th windows xp pro users will begin to
have a chance at downloading. The beginning of october mosts xp users
will be able to download the the pc version for single computers.

Monday is August 24th - is that what you meant? So - 24th is XPHome and
25th is XPPro?
