XP service pack 2

I installed xp service pack 2. Upon restarting the system
it asked me to "please wait." I waited for 15 minutes
during which nothing was happening except a hard drive
access about once a second. I turned off the system and
restarted. It seemed to start up normally.

My question: Service Pack 2 installs a windows firewall.
I was already using Sygate Personal firewall but windows
does not recognize the Sygate firewall on the system. I
disabled the windows firewall and my Sygate firewall
appears to be running normally. Should I be concerned?

As long as your Firewall is working then you do not need to worry about the
windows firewall It is mainly for people that do not use firewalss
