XP Pro checking License

D

DTC

I just attempted to log into my XP Pro machine and I get
the message "A problem is preventing Windows from
accurately checking the license for this computer. Error
Code: 0x80090019" ... Click ok & it goes back to the
login screen.

Tried to contact microsoft but I need the product ID from
the machine, and I can't log onto the machine to get it.

Any ideas.

I feel your pain.
Can't give you the answer but here is a path.
The product ID is in a registry key.

Perhaps someone out there knows a bootable tool that can
read the registry files--at least identify the key which
contains your license ID (probably digits and dashes not
characters&digits&dashes).
Won't do any good looking without a tool (the registry
hives are not eyeball readable).

That's what youget when you buy copy-protected products! Next time someone
wants to sell you a copy-protected product, tell them to go screw!

Copy-protection is an anti-consoumer technology, to "protect" the product
from the paying customer, and is used to strip individual of their "fair
use" rights! If you keep paying these greedy-assed corporations for
products that are "protected from you," then you deserve to get what you pay
for!
