XP Install problems

Bruce Lawrence

I am having problems formatting and installing XP Pro on a friends computer
I get error messages like:
Windows XP Professionnal Setup:
The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corupted or missing.
Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles.x86] with key "migapp.inf."
Setup cannot continue.
To quit setup, Press F3.
I installed XP Pro on a friends computer. I did windows update and
downlaoded several critical updates & had to restart when done.
Now, when it starts a blue screen comes up with the message:
She has 2- 15 GB HDD & each one is partitioned down the middle @ 71/2 each.
Please help ASAP.

Apparently, you inadvertently downloaded the wrong set
of Windows XP setup boot disks.

Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks

NOTE:

If you are planning to use the Windows XP setup disks,
make sure you downloaded the correct set of setup disks.

If your have a Windows XP CD with SP2, you need to download
the setup disks for use with the Windows XP SP2 installation CD.
