I need some of your expert, professional & friendly help. I installed XP Pro
on a friends computer. She has 2- 15 GB hdd each one is partitioned down the
middle @ &1/2.
I did windows update and downlaoded several critical updates & had to
restart when done.
Now, when it starts a blue screen comes up with the message:
Windows XP Professionnal Setup
The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corupted or missing.
Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles.x86] with key "migapp.inf."
Setup cannot continue.
To quit setup, Press F3.
Anybody have any good ideas i have never seen this before and have installed
hundreds of OS's.
Thanks for any help
Bruce

Something has obviously went wrong with the updates. If you have a
boot disk, try this:
"How to Start System Restore Tool From a Command Prompt in Windows XP"
"How to Use System Files to Create a Boot Disk to Guard Against Being
Unable to Start Windows XP"

I think it is something else. I cannot format anything now, have tried
delpart, diskpart fdisk nothing works. I have tried different Hard Drives &
different install disks and nothing, I get messages saying I am missing
files or a blue screen saying: Technical Information:
STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902f8, oxF7B6A300, 0xF7B6A000, 0xF72E986D)
ntfs.sys-Address F72E986D base at F72CA000, DateStamp 3b7dc5d0

any help would be appreciated

I would repair Windows as described here: "How to Perform an In-Place
Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP"
