Work Offline messages with DSL

I have SBC DSL and 98 with IE 6. I am constantly
receiving "Work Offline" message when browsing? Any ideas?
Go back to IE 5.5?

Hi,
A few things to try:

1. A registry edit:

2. Repair IE

3. If you have an unneeded DUN connection setup, remove it. (Ctrl Panel>
Dial-Up Networking )
4. In Ctrl Panel> Network> Configuration, remove unneeded components (such
as Dial-Up Adapter)
5. If your PPPoE software is Enternet 300, some people report better
performance from RASPPPOE http://www.raspppoe.com/ But... your ISP will not
provide support for RASPPPOE.
6. Do you have the latest version of whatever PPPoE software your ISP
provides?
