Ok here goes. If anyone can help - I have a computer with a Intel Desktop
Board "D850GB" motherboard that will go through the shutdown completely but
not power down afterwards. The fans etc. stay running. I have updated the
BIOS, all drivers for PCI and went as far as to unplug the power and IDE
cables from both DVD drives to see if there was a conflict, still no good. I
have also newly reformatted the drive and did a fresh install of XP Pro. plus
all updates to current SP2. Nothing seems to work. I have been through most
shut down help sites and don't find anything that appears to be about this
type of problem, most relate to hanging at Windows is shutting down etc. This
will shut down Window just not power off the computer. Yes I have gone
through all the power management fixes and still nothing. HELP!
