Wireless Mouse not recognised

Hi,

I'm connecting a USB wireless mouse to my acer travelmate 2700 laptop
and windows xp recognises the new hardward but installs the device as a
HID-compliant Device but doesn't install it under "Mice and other
pointing devices" so I am unable to use the mouse. It works OK on my
desktop so I figure the mouse is OK...

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

S

Hi,

Thanks for the reply

No there was no drivers plus when I connected to my desktop and reboot
it worked fine - with no additional drivers.

It jiust seems like the laptopm recognises as a HID compliant device
but not as a mouse/pointing device????

Cheers,

Toggle the connect button on the transmitter, then the connect button on
the mouse if it still is not recognized. If you have a backup wired
mouse for the laptop, try disabling the on-board pointing device
(touchpad or whatever). Failing that, check BIOS setup for any hardware
toggle for the on-board pointing device. Are you sure the USB port for
the transmitter is powered?

I am also facing the same problem. when I connect my wireless optical mouse
with my laptop then as soon as I connect it I get one warning on my laptop
that the usb device has exceeded it power limit.
I have checked my wireless optical mouse it works fine with my desktop so I
can say that the mouse is working.
It has something to do with the usb port power setting. is it possible to
change the power setting for the USB port. I think If i am able to change the
power setting of the usb port then then things may work.

thanks for your help,
Rajesh
