WinXP network perfomance

I keep facing same problem with windows xp: in mixed
network enviroment (like win98 + win2000 + winxp, all
machines are in the domain) network perfomance of winxp
machines is dramatically low, it takes 8 min instead of
1min on the other computers to run Saqe report, etc. It is
100BaseX star topology network, probably that's not the
reason of degraded perfomance. Couple of other customers
complained that they've got the same problems. Has anyone
got any idea how to remedy this, or atleast what might
cause this! Thanks in advance for your help

Max,

There is a major difference between W98 and XP. W98 machines do not join the
domain, while XK (and W2K) do.

Before anything else, I would move the XP boxes to a workgroup
configuration, reboot, delete the computer accounts on the DC and re-join
the XP boxes in the domain.

Repost if still in trouble with any error messages you get in the Event
Viewer at login time, both on the XP box and the DC.
