I am having an unusual problem with a home network i have setup. I have 1 PC
running Win98SE and the other PC running WinXP Pro. Both connect into a 4port
HUB, using CAT4 or 5 cable. Both are set to "WORKGROUP" etc and i can access
Win98's Shared files/folders from the WinXP PC, But i cant access the WinXP's
folders from the Win98 PC. I can play Network games against the 2 computers
but only if the Win98 PC creates the game. I have installed the WinXP network
stuff onto the Win98 machine as well. I turned the WinXP's firewall OFF, just
to see if that was stopping Win98's access to the WinXP PC (but that didnt
work). I have run the IPCONFIG in the command prompt, and then used the
"PING" command to ping both machines. both come back with a reply. The next
problem is the Network icon in the taskbar is not working properly. It says
it has low connectivity or something, so i try to repair it and it cant.
Can someone please help??
